The problem:
TCM 642087 starter adapter main gear shaft breakage/oil scavenge pump
failure/air conditioning failure, all due to improper main gear shaft alignment

1) For those aircraft with air conditioning or air conditioning and turbo oil scavenge pump.
• Modify 642087 starter adapter to 642087M by installing alignment dowels into existing turbo oil scavenge pump and re-certify existing starter adapter main gear shaft.

2) For those aircraft without air conditioning and without turbo oil scavenge pump.
• Modify 642087 to more reliable, lower cost, 642083M starter adapter.

3) For those aircraft without air conditioning but with turbo oil scavenge pump.
• Modify 642087 to more reliable, lower cost, 642085M starter adapter.
